Journal History

The Russian Journal of Economics and Law originates from 2006, when the Rector of Institute of Economics, Management and Law (at present – Kazan Innovative University named after V. G. Timiryasov) Vitaliy Gaynullovich Timiryasov initiated the establishment of the Journal Actual Problems of Economics and Law (ISSN: 1993-047X; online-ISSN: 2410-2390). The Rector was the first Editor-in-Chief of the Journal. In 2015, Doctor of Law, Professor I. I. Bikeev became a new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal. In 2016, co-Editors-in-Chief were invited to join the Journal’s team: a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Economics G. B. Kleyner and Doctor of Economics, Professor Yu. A. Tikhomirov; thus, the Journal’s status was enhanced and the edition attained a new impulse for development due to its active cooperation with the leading Russian research institutes and universities.

Since its first issues, the Journal became a site for scientific discussions of researchers and experts from Russia and foreign countries. The Journal’s specific feature is its focus on the most topical issues in the sphere of Economics and Law, with a special attention to the comprehensive phenomena of the modern world. The Journal has a keen sense of the pulse of the hottest topics, receiving information from experts of various scientific forums: Russian Journal of Economics and Law is an active participant and partner of many ongoing scientific and expert platforms of federal level.

One of the key partners of the Journal is the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, to be more specific, Symposium on evolutionary economics and an ongoing seminar “Digital finance” – an expert platform where the issues of monetary circulation, monetary policy, digital currencies of central banks, and theory of money are discussed. Among other partners of the Journal are: Saint Petersburg International Criminological Club, which considers the topical issues of criminal law and criminology, and an ongoing conference “Dialectics of corruption counteraction”.

All articles submitted to the Journal undergo a thorough selection; each manuscript is reviewed by two reviewers on average.

The Journal adheres to the Open Access policy and does not charge the authors for publication.
