For the first time, alongside with the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the symposium organizers were Lomonosov Moscow State University (Faculty of Global Studies) and International Research Institute for Management Problems.

The informational sponsors of the symposium were the journals AlterEconomics and Russian Journal of Economics and Law.

The symposium united academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctors of Sciences and PhDs from the Institute of Economics of the RAS, Central Institute of Economics and Mathematics of the RAS, Institute of China and modern Asia of the RAS, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Scientific-research University “Higher School of Economics”, Institute of Economics and Organization of Industrial Production of the Siberian branch of the RAS, Armenian State University of Economics, Eurasian Economic Commission, etc.

During two days of plenary sessions, there were in-depth discussions of institutional problems of the new world order development and formation of inter-state configurations; the features of macroeconomy of the new world order were considered; the role of technologies and innovations in its development was analyzed. A special session was devoted to the Russian reports of 2023 to the Club of Rome. Accommodation of the symposium participants in Zvenogorodskiy holiday facility of the RAS and an excellent work of its personnel facilitated the discussions going on almost nonstop and continuing even after official sessions were over.

The symposium participants agreed that the successful incorporation of our country into the new world order demands reliance, first of all, on the Russian scientific achievements and their inclusion into the programs of economic education in Russia. As was noted by the Chairman of the symposium Program Committee, Academician of the RAS V. I. Mayevskiy, “the time has come of a new mainstream in economic theory, the mainstream adequate to the new world economic order”.
