On November 16, 2023, TASS press center held the AI Ethics Forum: Generation GPT. Redlines, which included an award ceremony in the sphere of artificial intelligence ethics.

Kazan Innovative University named after V. G. Timiryasov was awarded for developing a pilot “Ethical Code of subjects implementing activity of creating, applying and utilizing medical products based on artificial intelligence technologies” (further – the Ethical Code), which will be published in December issue of the Russian Journal of Economics and Law.

The pilot Ethical Code was developed by researchers from Scientific-research Institute for Digital Technologies and Law of Kazan Innovative University – Senior Researcher, Cand. Sci. (Law) Albina A. Shutova and Chief Researcher, Dr. Sci. (Law), Associate Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Republic of Tatarstan, Editorial Board member of our Journal Ildar R. Begishev.

It is worth reminding that the Ethical Code comprises general principles of professional service ethics and basic rules of official behavior, which must be followed by subjects implementing activity of creating, applying and utilizing medical products based on artificial intelligence technologies, and is aimed at promoting the authority of medical professionals, increasing patients’ confidence in artificial intelligence technologies, and preventing potential negative consequences as a result of their use.

The Ethical Code is intended for lawyers – legal scientists and practitioners, medical professionals, members of clinical ethics committees, medical ethics specialists, representatives of law-making bodies, government agencies, business community and public organizations, patients, and a wide range of readers interested in the digital transformation of the healthcare system.
